1980-1996 Full Size Bronco SAS Kit (Solid Axle Swap PF830)

$1,699.99

Our Solid Axel Conversion Kit is back! This 80-96 Bronco SAS was designed for a High Pinion Dana 44 however, it can be used on any axle as long as you weld C-Bushing Radius Arm Mounts to the axle you are going to use (Note: You also have to use Ford’s 78-79 coils and coil buckets) This means if you are doing a 1-ton Dana 60 axle, you can still use this kit!

This kit includes:

  • Two of ProtoFab’s Johnny Joint Extended Radius Arms and Radius Arm brackets
  • One of ProtoFab’s Custom Track Bar and Track Bar bracket
  • One Terra-Flex Johnny Joint
  • One M12-1.75 x 75mm Class 10.9 Yellow Zinc Finish Hex Cap Screw
  • Two Class 10.9 Washers
  • One Class 10.9 Top Lock Nut

NOT included in the basic kit:  High pinion Dana 44 Axle,  78-79 Bronco coils, 78-79 Bronco bottom coil buckets and retainers, Johnny Joints for radius arms, radius arm C-Cups, bushing kit and the steering set-up. You can add most of these components to the basic kit with our add-on options.

Ships as raw steel via UPS. See below for more complete details.

Choose single or dual shock tabs for your radius arms.

By adding this option, you are adding a PAIR of Panhard 1 1/4 -12 x 5″ (9/16 Bore) Chromoly Rod Ends for your radius arms.

While converting over to the Chevy 1-ton steering is the BEST option in our opinion, some may not have the means of re-machining the knuckles to make them knuckle-over or maybe you just don’t want anything Chevy on your Bronco. Whatever your reason may be, the second best option is 78-79 Bronco steering. By adding this option you add a 78-79 to 80-96 Bronco Conversion Drag Link, 78-79 Bronco Right Outer Center Link, Front Left Outer Tie Rod End and Adjusting Sleeve and a 3-6″ suspension lift Drop Pitman Arm.

You will need to have the correct degree of castor based on the lift you are running. For example, if you are running a 3-6″ lift, you will likely need a 4 degree bushing. By adding this option, you are adding the 4 bushings of your choice. NOTE: You need to AT LEAST run a 4″ lift in order to use our SAS Kit.

You will be able to use the upper coil buckets already on your truck, but you may need to weld on some lowers. Some D44 still have them, some have been cut off. Note: If you’re doing a D60, you will need these.

Description

Our Bronco SAS Kit (Solid Axle Swap) is ideal for the full size Bronco owner that wants to ditch their TTB suspension. This kit is bolt-on but does require some welding. It uses factory holes to help with placement of the parts and a few of the parts will need to be welded as well as bolted to prevent flexing so you never have to worry about it breaking on you. In order to use this kit, you need to be running AT LEAST a 4″ suspension lift on your Bronco. Our 80-96 Bronco SAS was designed for a high pinion Dana 44 however, it can be used on any axle as long as you weld C-Bushing Radius Arm Mounts to the axle you are going to use (Note: You also have to use Ford’s 78-79 coils and coil buckets). This means if you want to run a Dana 60, you can still use this kit! The HP Dana 44 was offered in a variety of trucks produced in 1978 and 1979. We made it easy for you to finally do that swap you have been wanting to do, so start swapping my friend!

NOT included in the basic kit:  High Pinion Dana 44 Axle,  78-79 Bronco coils, 78-79 bottom coil buckets and retainers, radius arm C-Cups, C-Cup bushing kit and any steering set-up. You can add most of these components to our basic SAS kit with our add-on options what we haven’t sourced you can find links below.
