66-77 Bronco Centered Spare Tire Rear Bumper | Centered Tire | RockSolid Series (PF303C)
66-77 Bronco Bumper with lowered centered tire carrier.
The 66-77 Bronco Centered Spare Tire Rear Bumper, also called the Centered Tire, is made from 1/4" sheet metal and offers the best body protection and style available for your early Bronco. With its easy bolt-on installation that requires no welding or drilling*, it’s hard to beat. Our RockSolid rear bumpers wrap around the rear corners to provide protection for those precious quarter panels and also have Hi-Lift Jack access holes** cut into the bottom area should you ever need to use one to get yourself out of a tricky situation.
This bumper includes a unique rack designed to put the tire in the center of the tailgate and then we lowered it for added visibility while still being able to accept up to a 37" tire with 5.25" back spacing. Like our other tire rack design, this rack is made of 2"x3" x 0.188 wall rectangular tube with beefed up 3/4" pivot and heims*** which are rated at 15,850 lbs of static radial load. The heims are permanently lubricated which ensures a smooth and easy hinge to maintain and are easily replaced.
Included with these rugged is our coveted Cam latch mechanism which is adjustable and offers many years of rattle free use. The rack is also fitted with our new Rack Lockout system which stops the open carrier at a safe location, preventing it from swinging into the side of your truck and also back at you. Lastly, we included a 2” unrated receiver hitch which is capable of pulling the stock recommended weight for your Bronco.****
*This statement applies to our Fully Welded edition. The other editions require several hours of welding and grinding. Additionally, if you order a body lift, you will have a few holes to drill.
**These are access holes for use of the Hi-Lift jack. We do not currently offer a solution for Hi-Lift jack storage.
***On 07/30/2023, we began using 3/4" Heims on the Centered Swing-out bumpers. The 5/8 heims are not interchangeable with the 3/4" heims. The 5/8" heims with the grease zerk are rated at 6,850 lbs of static radial load. The 5/8" heims without grease zerk are rated at 11,350 lbs of static radial load.
****This statement applies to our 1/4" bumper. If you plan on using the receiver to tow, please use your best judgement. Our hitches are unrated but can support the stock towing capacity of a Bronco (we do not claim this on f-series trucks) as our bumper mounting system bolts on the vehicle frame. Small and lightweight single axle trailers are typically safe to tow behind your Bronco. If you tow something that you shouldn't be towing with your Bronco, you could seriously injure yourself or others should something fail. We are not liable for any damage, loss or injury.
Edition
| Box Kit: Completely disassembled bumper kit shipped in a box. Only recommended for experienced welders/fabricators as it requires several hours of welding and grinding to complete. The lead time for this product is significantly less. (Typically a 3-4 week lead time) |
| Tack Kit: A tack welded kit that arrives in its true form and will require several hours of welding and grinding to complete. It is not a flat kit and will not be more economical when shipping. |
| Welded: Arrives as unfinished raw-steel ready to install. We ALWAYS recommend test fitting the bumper to your truck BEFORE applying paint or powder coat. Once you have successfully mounted the bumper to your truck, it is safe to remove it and apply a finish. |
Add-On's
Body Lift: Add an adjustable body lift to your bumper. This system uses pucks to set the bumper at the appropriate location when your truck body is lifted off the frame. See our install guide for more information about how it works.
8-Lug Wheel Plate: If your Bronco has Super Duty Axles you need to order the appropriate wheel plate. Choose from 8 x 6.5" or 8 x 170mm.
