1978-1996 Bronco 30 Gallon Low Profile Stainless Steel EFI Fuel (PF862)
Tired of that belly dragging, diaper of a fuel tank hanging off your full size Bronco rear end?
So were we! Enter our new low profile stainless steel fuel tank with a 30 gallon capacity. Made from 14 gauge brushed stainless steel this low profile tank is exactly what you need to make your offroad excursions less stressful. Say goodbye to the belly dragging stock tank and hello to our new low profile tank which adds almost 2" of added ground clearance and we added an angle to the back side of the tank so when you're showing off your new ProtoFab rear bumper to all your buddies, you won't have the eye sore of that huge stock tank sticking out from down below.
Gauges
The pumps we run are an OEM style 1999-2004 Ford F-150 without Supercharger fuel pump. 78-86 Broncos running a stock gauge would need to order the 10 (Full) - 73 (Empty) sending unit conversion. 87-96 Broncos running a stock gauge set up will need a 16 (Full) - 156 (Empty) sending unit set up. So long as your gauges are programmed to match the sending unit range that you order your tank with, they will work cohesively.
FAQ
Q: What size is the Filler neck?
A: We use a 1 3/4" filler neck with a barb fitting on our current tanks. Previous tanks were made with a 2" filler neck.
Q: What size are your pressure and return lines?
A: The pressure line is 3/8" and the return line is 5/16".
Q: Are there any baffles in your tank?
A: Yes, there is one baffle in the tank.
Q: What size is your vent tube?
A: We use 1/2" NPT vent fittings. You can use any tube you want so long as it has the same fitting.
Q: Do you use gaskets and glue on your tanks?
A: Absolutely not. All our tanks are made with O-ring connections. No glue or cork gaskets here.
Q: What EFI Systems work with this tank?
A: Our pump can handle up to a 400 HP motor. If you have an OB1 or OB2 system, this is more than enough to handle your system. If you're not running a stock engine and are pushing more than 400 HP, you might consider upgrading the pump to an Aeromotive set-up. They have varying configurations and can support up to 2000ph with their highest performing configuration. See photos for HP information.
Q: What fuel pump do you use in your tanks?
A: We use an OEM style 1999-2004 Ford F-150 without Supercharger fuel pump.
Q: What is the PSI of the 1999-2004 Ford F-150 w/o Supercharger fuel pump?
A: This OEM style pump is capable of pushing 70 PSI. The PSI at the fuel rail for this stock system is 30 to 45 due to pressure regulators (The 99-04 trucks usually operate at 40 PSI and about 35 PSI in an idle, though this can vary with multiple variable components). This pump is good for motors producing up to 400 HP. If you are concerned that this pump is not enough for your EFI system, your BEST BET is to try the pump that we supply first (you don't need to fill your tank completely full while testing it out.) If you are having issues after you have tried the supplied pump, then you can try swapping out the in tank pump for a higher pressure pump or adding an inline pump in addition to our pump. You just want to be careful because if you put a higher pressure pump in, and your system doesn't need it, you risk burning the whole thing down.
Q: What fittings do you use?
A: Modern OEM style high pressure fittings with NO HOSE CLAMPS. They are push connect.
Q. Where can I buy a quick connect style fuel line?
A. Dorman makes a hose that you can use. It's an aftermarket repair part. The part # is 800-054 and it is a 5/16" Quick Connector, Straight W/ 18" Of 3/8" Nylon Tube And A Union"
Q: Is there a female quick connect that I can use to plug into the tank?
A: Yes! OE and aftermarket pieces are available. Dorman part # is 645-708 Ford OE part # is 1U2Z-14S411-BGA
Q: Is the pump mounted to the tank with sheet metal screws?
A: No. Our pumps are mounted with machined 1/4 - 20 stainless steel bungs and hardware which means there are no metal chips in our tanks from sheet metal screws.
Q: Is your tank ready to install from the box?
A: Yes. Our tanks are fully welded and ready for fuel.
